STERK Yachts Sponsors Next Generation Boating Class40 Campaign – Homecoming Event in Hamburg
Following their return from Lorient, the Class40 team of Next Generation Boating Sailing Around the Globe 40 is coming back to where it all began: Hamburg. On May 2, 2026, the team will celebrate their official homecoming with a public event at Sandtorkai – supported by STERK Yachts as official sponsor.
As a German shipyard, STERK Yachts is proud to support a German offshore sailing team on its journey
around the globe, reflecting a shared commitment to performance, innovation and modern boating. With
its focus on high-performance sport boats, STERK Yachts aligns closely with the spirit of the Next
Generation Boating Class40 campaign. STERK Yachts will support the event on the water by providing
at least one accompanying boat, including a STERK 31, which will be moored in the harbor and open for
onboard visits after arrival.
Together with event partners Float Magazin and Buy a Boat, the homecoming is being realized as a joint
initiative to make modern sailing and boating accessible to a wider audience.
The event marks the first self-hosted public gathering by the team and invites both the boating community
and media to experience the arrival live – on the water and onshore.
Event Schedule – May 2, 2026 (Hamburg):
- 10:30 – Departure from Wedel (accompanying boats welcome)
- Approx. 12:30 – Arrival at the Elbphilharmonie
- 13:15 – Bridge opening
- 13:30 – Arrival & mooring at Sandtorhafen
- From 13:45 – Official welcome (city, sports, partners & sponsors)
- Until approx. 16:30 – DJ, harbor atmosphere & networking
