Luxury power catamaran builder to showcase flagship W-72 and preview the next phase of its growing range of custom multihulls
GranOcean brings European debut of W-72 to Cannes Yachting Festival
GranOcean will showcase the European debut of its W-72 power catamaran at the Cannes Yachting Festival, giving European buyers their first opportunity to step aboard the flagship model and experience the space, efficiency and customisation that have become hallmarks of the GranOcean brand.
Appearing at Vieux Port, berth Pan 093, the W-72 represents the latest evolution of GranOcean’s semi-custom W-Series and arrives at a time of growing interest in larger luxury power catamarans. While many builders are only beginning to enter the sector, GranOcean brings more than 25 years of specialist catamaran-building experience, having delivered custom and semi-custom catamarans to owners around the world since 1998.

GranOcean will present in partnership with Catamaran Guru, the brand’s exclusive global distributor. Catamaran Guru provides international sales representation and owner support across GranOcean’s growing range of power catamarans.
Built for owners seeking exceptional onboard volume, long-range cruising capability and extensive personalisation, the W-72 delivers one of the most spacious platforms in its class, combining luxury, efficiency and flexibility at a compelling value. Its wide beam, flared hull design and high bridge deck clearance combine to deliver a comfortable and efficient cruising experience, while a variety of layout options, interior finishes and owner-specific features allow each yacht to be tailored to its intended lifestyle and use.
The yacht’s distinctive flybridge wings provide additional lounging space while also delivering practical benefits, including enhanced shade and protection for the cockpit below. Interior styling options developed by renowned Dutch design studio Vripack further elevate the onboard experience, offering owners a choice of Mediterranean, Scandinavian, Elegant Chic and Cosmopolitan themes.
“Cannes is one of the most important boat shows in the world and an ideal opportunity to introduce the W-72 to a wider European audience,” said Eric So, Managing Partner and Lead Designer at GranOcean. “Owners today are increasingly looking for greater space, better efficiency and more freedom to customise their yachts,” said Eric So. “The W-72 delivers all three while retaining the comfort, performance and quality expected from a modern luxury cruising platform, at a value that is rarely found in this segment of the market.”
Alongside the W-72, GranOcean will share details of the next chapter in its product development programme, including a new addition to the W-Series. Visitors will also have the opportunity to learn more about the GranOcean X-32, the company’s 32-metre all-carbon-fibre flagship, which is already in build and scheduled to launch later this year.
As the largest yacht in the GranOcean portfolio, the X-32 has been conceived as a fully bespoke platform capable of incorporating features such as an expansive owner’s apartment, bow swimming pool, twin garages for tenders and water toys, and helipad capability. The project reflects GranOcean’s growing presence in the fully custom market and its continued investment in larger multihull platforms.
GranOcean’s portfolio is structured across two distinct model lines:
W-Series – Semi-custom power catamarans from 60 to 72 feet, designed to maximise interior volume, cruising efficiency, stability and owner customisation.
X-Series – Fully custom power catamarans from 24 to 32 metres, developed around each owner’s unique requirements, cruising plans and lifestyle ambitions.
