MARCH 14-17, 2012, YCCS VIRGIN GORDA

The majestic 38m Hetarios has crossed the finishing line as seven other magnificent maxi and superyachts approach the British Virgin Islands in her wake to complete the Transatlantic racethat began in Tenerife early last week. The Yacht Club Costa Smeralda (YCCS) has been putting the final touches to its new Clubhouse in Virgin Gorda in time to welcome the competitors once they cross the finishing line.

The new YCCS clubhouse and superyacht marina in the idyllic surroundings of North Sound, Virgin Gorda will play host next March to a stellar fleet of sailing and motor superyachts for four days of racing, cruising and fabulous parties and receptions.

The event looks set to be a highlight of the Caribbean season, with over 20 of the world’s largest, loveliest, and fastest yachts already registered to participate. We encourage all superyacht owners considering participating to register without delay to avoid disappointment as the number of places is strictly limited.

The racing will be divided into three classesperformance, cruising and catamaran, with the fleet competing to win the perpetual silver cup made by Garrard of London – the Boat International Media Trophy.

We look forward to welcoming a wonderfully diverse fleet of superyachts to Virgin Gorda next March. A list of currently registered yachts and full details of the social and sailing program can be found on the website.
