YAMARIN TO OVERHAUL DAY CRUISER RANGE

YamarinYamarin plan to turn a new leaf with a complete overhaul of the Yamarin Day Cruiser range. Internationally awarded Norwegian designers Eker Design have been selected to take Yamarin to the next level under senior designer Bård Eker.
Concept development and brand strategy work at Konekesko led to the realisation that customer needs and wishes were changing and that a shift was underway in the world of leisure boating.

“We explored several options for upgrading the Yamarin concept and design, and Eker Design emerged as the best partner. The ideas pitched to us by Bård Eker, his energy and innovation and his track record were utterly convincing,” says Director Kari Rautanen. “Our purpose is to create something completely new that will keep Yamarin at the cutting edge as the most desirable outboard-motor boat in the Nordic countries.”
Eker Design is a Norwegian design company employing some 30 hand-picked youthful design professionals. They are internationally known and appreciated, being one of Scandinavia’s leading designer enterprises. Eker Design have worked with a wide variety of design and planning projects, acquiring versatile expertise and a broad vision that transcends sectoral boundaries. Products designed by the company include furniture and interior design elements for public spaces, specialist cars, motorcycles and other vehicles. The sporty Hydrolift boats are also produced by Eker Design.
The Yamarin Day Cruiser range will be the first to be overhauled. The project will proceed one model at a time, beginning with the largest class for the 2016 season. Safety and high quality are key values for Yamarin, so it is only natural that Yamarin boats will continue to be manufactured in Finland.
