Princess Yachts Y95

Princess Y95

Princess Yachts has announced the new flagship of its Y Class range, the new Y95, that is set to redefine the market for large flybridge motor yachts.

The Princess Yachts Y85, launched at the 2019 Dusseldorf Boat Show, set a new benchmark for classic motor yacht design. The all new X95 ‘superfly’, meanwhile, will receive its global debut in 2020 and re-writes the rules around the use of space in luxury yacht design. The Y95 will unite the best of both yachts to deliver elegant architectural innovation and Princess Yachts’ hallmark characteristics of quality in craftmanship, materials and interior design.

Antony Sheriff, Executive Chairman, Princess Yachts, said:

“The reception to the Y85 and the X95, that’s not even been seen in public yet, reinforces our strategy to combine the best of both yachts in our landmark new Y Class.
“The X95 appeals to a whole new generation of future Princess owners. The Y95 builds on the best attributes of the X Class, appealing to our heartland, with a strong focus on elegant design and modern marine life. The Y95’s design is a classic example of form and function that beautifully comes together to create our largest yacht.”

Form and function define the Y95

Under the guidance of the Princess Design Studio, Olesinski and Pininfarina have combined their expertise to deliver one of the world’s most elegant and stylish large flybridge luxury yachts. The Y95’s character lines provide a flowing side profile, framing the largest hull window ever installed in a Princess. These simple side graphics connect the yacht’s flanks with her bow, stern and the new asymmetric flybridge.

The Y95’s form and function combines to offer outdoor living spaces comparable to larger craft, and an interior comparable to Princess’ M Class vessels. Design attributes such as the side door access to the flybridge make it feel bigger than a typical 100 foot yacht. The unique flybridge design also improves access to, and serviceable use of, the foredeck area.

The Y95 features a full 22’3” beam master stateroom, with skylights, that is located forward on the main deck. Below deck, four further beautifully appointed en-suite cabins host guests, whilst crew accommodation includes an en-suite captain’s cabin and bunk cabin.

Numerous interior configurations are possible thanks to its innovative interior layout and increased volume afforded by the new hull design. The Y95 offers an extensive range of options packages, meaning that customer choice is both simplified and extensive.

Andy Lawrence, Design Director, Princess Yachts, said: “The new Y Class flagship brings a new level of design and functionality to Princess. Elegant exterior profile lines and design details clothe the Y95, that offers class-leading seakeeping and efficiencies delivered by an all-new deep-V concept hull form with a wave-piercing bulbous bow.

“The Y95 is a new offering to Princess owners looking to move to a bigger yacht at the cutting edge of marine design. It has new levels of functionality and a focus on living life on board with the master cabin larger than comparable sized yachts. Her innovative layout also brings a strong focus on the yacht’s Beach Club.

“The Y95 shows that we continue to push the boundaries of yacht design for everyone on board, and reinforces our brand leadership position in the luxury yacht market.”
As well as enhancing the Y Class style and performance, the Y95’s innovative architecture has also allowed the design team to focus on filling the Y95 with numerous features to enjoy life at sea. A dedicated garage provides storage for a Sea-Doo SPARK (or equivalent) plus numerous other sea toys in the optional Beach Club.
A new transformer bathing platform with 1,000 kg SWL accommodates and deploys a Williams Dieseljet 505 (or equivalent). The flybridge aft can also accommodate the same tender. An optional flybridge crane with 1,000 kg SWL and life raft integrates into the flybridge superstructure, hidden away when not in use.

On board the Y95

The Y95 deck’s surfaces are well appointed with teak-laid transom and stairs, cockpit deck, flybridge, flybridge stairway, side decks and foredeck walk-through to the seating and sunbathing area. Her cockpit provides a teak dining table with surrounding U-shaped seating and a remote control 5 metre telescopic passerelle. From the cockpit, occupants can access the crew quarters and engine room, whilst transom doors provide direct access to the garage with its electro-hydraulic door and manual wetbike launch system. Twin transom gates also lead from the cockpit to an electro-hydraulic bathing platform with foldaway swimming ladder, and hot and cold shower.

The flybridge offers twin adjustable helm seats and a forward-facing L-shaped seating area. Aft she offers a large deck area for free-standing furniture and a dining table that seats 10. The wetbar includes a sink, twin electric barbecue, hob and drawer refrigerator.

The well-appointed deck saloon features U-shaped seating with a coffee table, a sofa to starboard, a dining area for 10 with full-height panoramic window and access to the side deck and day head. On-board entertainment is provided by a 65” 4K UHD LED TV that can be raised and lowered electronically, plus a DVD and Blu-ray system with a Naim audio system.
Fit and finish inside is a hallmark of Princess – high-quality, highly practical and finished to a level of detail that’s the envy of the industry. Furniture is typically oak, with walnut as an option, and all guest bathrooms feature formed solid surface worktops. Guest bathrooms offer floors in either marble, granite or quartz, with the same also forming the galley worktops. All windows and portholes feature curtains, blinds or sunscreens.

On the seas

The Y95’s efficient and exciting performance will make life at sea equally appealing with state-of-the art twin MAN 2,000 mhp V12 engines powering her to a maximum speed range of 23-25 knots. A fuel capacity of 13,400 litres delivers a potential range in excess of 1000 nautical miles at slow cruising speed.

Enjoy the experience of ownership

As with the X95, a familiarisation course prior to delivery ensures the Y95 can be put to best use immediately. With access to Princess’s aftersales experts, a worldwide dealer network, and a full calendar of exclusive events, the Y95 offers an exceptional ownership experience.

Meanwhile, aiding adventure and encouraging exploration is Princess’s unique 24/7 Lifeline support.
