Famous German high-performance car manufacturer, BRABUS GmbH, has initiated cooperation with Axopar Boats Oy, the fastest-growing boat manufacturer in Europe, to produce under license a new range of bespoke, luxury ‘hyper’ boats, with distinct design and performance features typical for BRABUS.
The world premiere of the special limited edition 1 of 20 BRABUS Shadow 800 will take place at boot Düsseldorf in January 2018.
The cooperation combines the design know-how and engineering talents of both Axopar Boats and BRABUS for the production of an initial production run of twenty boats. The BRABUS Shadow 800 will utilize the Axopar 37 twin-stepped hull as the basis for its exceptional design.
Each of the twenty boats will be built within a dedicated part of the new Axopar factory, utilizing BRABUS design knowledge and engineering.
Due to the worldwide dealer network associated with both companies and their reaction to a first already existing and running prototype, sales demand is expected to be high.
Prof. h.c. Bodo Buschmann, CEO of BRABUS Group says: “Our existing BRABUS Shadow 800 boat number one is already quite an appearance. It’s style and performance are absolutely outstanding and the two brands fit well together.
Many Axopar and BRABUS customers have already asked us when and how they can buy this boat!”
Natural and perfect synergies between these two dynamic & progressive brands have lead to a longer-term commitment to invest in a new ultra-modern production facility in 2019, dedicated exclusively to the new partnership. Following the BRABUS Shadow 800 limited edition in 2018, the future range of bespoke BRABUS luxury boats will expand, ranging up to 45 feet within the next few years.
Defining the striking appearance of the BRABUS Shadow 800 is a distinctive, bold colour scheme based strictly upon BRABUS’ signature black, complemented with small touches of red. Its look is achieved using a high-quality Alexseal superior yacht paint system. And for clients desiring a more elegant appearance the BRABUS Shadow 800 will be available in a second color scheme, featuring a grey hull with red applications and an interior in elegant custom colors.
In perfect harmony with its exterior design, the interior will feature modern grey, white and black materials as well as original BRABUS carbon fibre parts, known to many car aficionados from high-performance and luxury automobiles.
Built according to BRABUS’s design and production philosophy
of utilizing the latest high-performance technology and components to create best-in-class performance, the 37ft BRABUS Shadow 800 will be powered by twin 400hp Mercury Verado racing engines.
It will also feature fingertip steering control via Mercury’s 360 degree JPO joystick piloting for outboards. Many other integrated features such as underwater cameras and the newest navigational equipment and options will complete the high-tech appeal of this special boat.
With justifiable enthusiasm, Axopar considers the new BRABUS partnership as an ideal opportunity for reaching out to the higher end of the luxury sports boat market, and a great opportunity for both companies to extend their footprint into wider markets. “BRABUS is an ideal partner for Axopar,” so says Axopar Chief of Operations, Jan-Erik Viitala, “Because in this new collaboration we are able to combine the best of both worlds: Scandinavian design and German Engineering.”
The BRABUS Shadow 800 will be extensively equipped as standard, with a preliminary starting price set at: 397.500€, incl. 19% VAT. This will include 2 x Mercury Verado 400 Racing engines with Joystick piloting, autopilot,
twin GPS plotters, VHF as well as an extensive array of electronic equipment.
