The Monaco-based broker will represent the third hull of the downeast-style lobster boat.

Piloda Yachting, the nautical division of Piloda Group with operational bases in Torre Annunziata, Brindisi and Naples, and Moravia Yachting, a broker based in the Principality of Monaco and part of the Hill Robinson group, have signed a Central Agency agreement to market one unit of the Ad Astra 60.
Under the terms of the deal, Moravia Yachting takes on the role of offi cial broker for the third hull, placing it within its sales and charter network.

The Ad Astra 60 The Ad Astra 60 stands out for its design, technology and construction philosophy. Inspired by the downeast lobster boat tradition, it was developed in collaboration with Francesco Guida with the intention of maintaining a classic, elegant appearance, removed from passing trends and design cues tied to specifi c fashions. The design objective was to create a vessel distinguished by restraint and formal balance. Compared to a classic downeast-style boat, the project focused on cleaning up and improving the effi ciency of the deck, working in particular on the bow, the spray rail and the stern exits, so as to optimise hull behaviour and improve overall performance.

Propulsion is via shaft line from two MAN I6-800 engines. Salvatore Bonavita, project manager and head of the yachting division at Piloda Group, explains the reasoning: “We kept the shaft line for reliability, manoeuvrability and lower maintenance costs.” Maximum speed is 32 knots, cruising speed 25 knots. The FGRP hull has a LOA of 17.86 metres, a waterline length of 15.43 m at full load, a maximum draft of 1.21 m and a fuel tank capacity of 2,900 litres. The vessel is CE certifi ed to design category B.

The construction approach is built around longevity. “This is a project designed to last, not to follow fashion,” says Bonavita. “It has classic lines and a philosophy aimed at the experienced owner.” Production is kept deliberately low: up to a maximum of 5 units per year, with hull and superstructure built by infusion and the bulk of the workforce in-house. That model, according to Bonavita, is what makes after-sales service possible: “Builders often do not think about who will have to carry out maintenance later. We do. We design the boat with the person who will need to work on it in fi ve or ten years in mind.”

Two interior layouts are available: three cabins and two bathrooms with a galley in the upper saloon and an external bar unit, or two cabins with a lower-deck galley. On the main deck, cockpit and saloon are linked by a sliding door with an electrically operated opening roof; with both open, the two areas combine into a single space for 8 to 12 people.

Taking the Ad Astra 60 to market
“We are thrilled to work with Moravia to present the Ad Astra 60 to international markets. We share the same vision: building lasting relationships with the owner, not limiting ourselves to the sale of the vessel. Their global network and the clientele they work with every day represent the perfect context for our product,” said Walter Di Palo, CEO of Piloda Yachting.

Alessandro Diomedi

Alessandro Diomedi of Moravia Yachting identifi ed the design as the primary reason for his interest. “I have always appreciated the timeless, understated elegance of the New England-inspired lobster boat”, said Diomedi. “The Ad Astra 60 is a great modern, functional interpretation of that style. It would be perfect used as a tender to larger yachts, with its dedicated layout designed for this purpose.”
Diomedi also pointed to the industrial background of the builder: “Piloda Yachting is a division of Piloda Group, a strong industrial group active in shipbuilding, military and civil construction. This refl ects a practical but structured approach to yacht building”.
