NEW BOOK : Brave sau Stupid

Brave or Stupid?
By Tracey Christiansen (Story by Yanne Larsson and Carl Andersson)

BraveOrStupid

THE UNLIKELY TRUE STORY OF HOW A SEASICK
ELECTRICIAN SAILED AROUND THE WORLD
When you read about someone sailing around the world, it’s usually a dotcom
millionaire or a professional adventurer. Brave or Stupid? tells a very different story: an everyman tale about a middle-aged, seasick electrician with no money who decides to sail around the world. And it all starts not with a passion for sailing or a search for identity. It starts with a handshake. One of the old-fashioned iron-clad ones.

A casual suggestion over wine with best friend Carl Andersson, turns into one of
those ideas that just won’t go away. Twenty-four hours later, a handshake decides it. The little details – buying a boat, learning to sail and saving up money – take five years, but in 2002, the two men leave Helsingborg, Sweden on a three-year voyage that will change them forever. Storms, tropical diseases, drama, love and comedy – their story is an adventure like no other. Brave or Stupid? is a book for anyone who has ever gone beyond what is sensible and realistic to discover a whole new world outside and a whole new person inside. This is a book for anyone who still believes in the power of dreams. And handshakes…
About the author(s)
After travelling the globe for 25 years, British born Tracey Christiansen settled in Sweden with a Danish husband. To date, she’s translated and published numerous articles and short stories for a variety of publications and was just putting the finishing touches to her first novel when Yanne and Carl asked her to write their story in English.
Yanne Larsson, born and raised in Helsingborg, Sweden, across the water from
Hamlet’s Elsinore Castle, is a strong believer in the power of dreams and his
perseverance has taken him on a rollercoaster ride from electrician to businessman to world sailor and back. Calle Andersson also started as an electrician, but his talent for mathematics soon took him to higher studies in electrical engineering and eventually Managing Director of Peab’s electrical division. Even though he did his military service as an elite commando he did the dishes onboard for three years without complaining. (Yanne did the cooking.)
