Costiera Yacht is a new Italian company that builds powerboats with an artisanal touch and sartorial style. Founded in 2024 by Luciano Savelli and Giorgio Santello — young entrepreneurs with considerable industry experience — Costiera Yacht is based in Fano, Italy, and embodies the values of “Made in Italy” to provide exceptional experience at sea. At the 2025 Venice Boat Show (May 29–June 2), Costiera Yacht will present the design of its first boat, the CY39.
It is a surprising boat. With an overall length of 12 meters and a width of 3.4 meters, it is intended for those who want ultimate functionality and style, where every detail is crafted with obsessive care. The CY39 certainly meets Costiera Yacht’s motto: “Innovative by tradition.”
“The CY39 is born from the familiar lines of traditional Mediterranean boats,” explain Luciano Savelli, a 39-year-old lifelong entrepreneur in the industry who oversees construction and the commercial side at Costiera Yacht, and Giorgio Santello, a 37-year-old with 12 years of industry experience who oversees design and management.
On the other hand, marketing and communication are entrusted to Francesco Andrisani (Kontakt Agency) and Mattia Farruggia. “The modernity of CY39 lies not only in the small design touches, but also in the overall design,” Savelli and Santello continue. “The hull, for example, is classic in style. It has round shapes, a set-back center keel, and a shallow stern that provides a safe and smooth sailing experience.”
The cockpit design is also distinctive: it opens to the sea with in-line benches spanning almost three meters and a generous stern platform spanning almost four meters. The hull and deck have large windows with a megayacht inspired design that serves two purposes: giving character to the exterior and illuminating the interior with natural light.
The CY39’s interiors are distinctive and reminiscent of a contemporary loft with a fresh, personal design. Costiera Yacht’s designers chose a bright, airy, open space that is also striking. From the cockpit, a large glass window provides access to the salon, where a modern, in-line sofa stands out. Then there is the galley on the broadside and the bed at the bow, both of which are designed to maximize conviviality without interrupting the flow of the design. The first-rate materials and finishes include wood with different types of grain, eco-leather, nautical wallpaper, and high-quality fabrics, which sum up the style of the Costiera Yacht shipyard.
“The boat is designed for an audience passionate about classic design with a tendency toward innovation,” Savelli and Santello continue. “The CY39 is dedicated to those who are demanding and want to live in close contact with the sea, absorb the warmth of the sun, and enjoy the spectacles it offers through its large windows. It is a boat that can be enjoyed year-round, especially during the spring and fall when, after a storm, you can go out and find a sea crystal clear, clean skies, and crisp air.”
“My story stems from a genuine passion for the sea. The first time I went out on a boat, I knew I could never leave this world behind,” explains Luciano Savelli. “Giorgio Santello and I are building boats with Costiera Yacht that truly reflect the dreams and needs of those who love the sea without compromising on quality. For the structural and engineering aspects, we are assisted by an exceptional partner, ITWORKS Engineering. They are a nautical design firm with more than 30 years of experience and over 1,000 delivered projects.”
“Luciano and Costiera Yacht took an opportunity dictated by a need,” replies Giorgio Santello. “We wanted to complete our different professional experiences by offering a product that represents us and that we believe represents a new way of experiencing the sea. With style, innovation, and tradition.”
