PERINI NAVI

With a fleet of 53 yachts on the water- 51 sailing yachts and two motor yachts- the Perini Navi Group is the world leader in the design and construction of large sailing yachts. In 2007 the Group also began to build motor yachts with the brand name Picchiotti and the series name Vitruvius, thus re-launching the historic Picchiotti shipyard acquired in the early 1990’s. The Group is made up of the Perini Navi shipyard inViareggio, founded in the 1980’s by Fabio Perini who invented and developed a revolutionary automatic sail control system. Another division is the Picchiotti shipyard in La Spezia where the Group constructs its motor yachts and concentrates most of its refitting work, and the Perini Istanbul shipyard in Yildiz, Turkey where its hulls and deck structures are produced. Perini Navi USA is a commercial division of the Group through which owners of Perini Navi Group yachts can arrange charters and find brokerage services for both new and previously owned Perini Navi Group yachts.

BENETEAU

The BENETEAU adventure began more than a century ago on the quays of Croix-de-Vie in Vendée.

AZIMUT YACHTS

The beginnings-Azimut Yachts came about in 1969, when the young university student Paolo Vitelli founded Azimut Srl, and began chartering sailing boats.

The first steps towards success
In 1970 some prestigious yachting brands appointed the company to distribute their boats in Italy.
Azimut quickly expanded its operations: Apart from distribution, it began to design new yachts. In a joint venture with Amerglass, it designed the AZ 43’ Bali, a mass-produced fibreglass boat, which was an immediate success.
The company gradually expanded its range, focussing on the lower end of the market – with the launch of the AZ 32’ Targa in 1977, the “Ford T” of the boat world – and upper end too – (with the memorable début of the Azimut 105’ Failaka in 1982, the biggest mass-produced yacht in fibreglass at the time).

The acquisition of Benetti and the start of own production
In 1985 Azimut acquired Benetti. This historical brand, based in Viareggio, had been building boats since 1873, and designed the concept of the megayacht.
Azimut was now able construct its own yachts, defining new style and industry standards that would go on to revolutionise the boat building industry, such as: large frameless windows, electric seats, and walnut interiors.

New production sites and international recognition
From the late nineties onwards, with the acquisition of new boatyards at Fano, the restructuring of the Benetti boatyards at Viareggio and the construction of a new site at Avigliana, in the province of Turin, Azimut went on to become the foremost builder of yachts and megayachts.
This leadership position was confirmed in subsequent seasons, thanks to numerous business successes and an investment policy which has consolidated Azimut’s technological and production capacities over the years, with sites now established in Turkey and Brazil.

FERRETTI

 The strength of an idea becomes history

When one given passion continues for over four decades, it becomes history. Brothers Alessandro and Norberto Ferretti founded Ferretti in 1968, a symbolic year for the history of both the world and the sea. Three years later, in 1971, their first wooden motor sailer enjoyed great success when presented at the Genoa Boat Show. Fitted with both a sail and an engine, the yacht was 10 metres in length and especially comfortable for cruises. The brothers’ lucky intuition meant that soon afterwards Ferretti was listed amongst the most prestigious shipyards in the world.

In 1982, Ferretti presented its first motor yacht and began building sport fisherman models too, both open and flybridge. These yachts already featured revolutionary innovations which are still applied throughout the nautical industry today: a stern helm position, swinging windows in the salon which open out onto the cockpit, and an internal passage from the salon to the flying bridge. The nineties were characterised by research and development within the sphere of nautical engineering through establishment of the Engineering division, and winning performances in Offshore competitions. Over the next few years, the company expanded to encompass its current range, renewed year after year with cutting-edge design solutions.

RIVA

Riva’s history dates back to 1842, when Pietro Riva began building boats at Sarnico, a small northern Italian town on the shores of Lago d’Iseo. By the 1930s, by which time the business was managed by Pietro’s grandson, Serafino, the company was a leading manufacturer of small racing boats, many of which he raced himself.  At the same time, it began building pleasure boats.

In the 1950s Serafino’s son Carlo transformed the business.  After a considerable struggle with his father to realise his ambitions, he created wooden boats of such exceptional style and elegance that they surpassed anything his competitors produced.  In due course the Riva brand became a worldwide legend courted by screen stars, royalty and businessmen alike.  Famous owners included Brigitte Bardot, pictured here on her Super Florida, Sophia Loren, Peter Sellers and many more besides.

 MASTERCRAFT

MasterCraft was founded in 1968 when it built its first ski boat in a two-stall horse barn on a farm in Maryville, Tennessee. Dissatisfied with the large wakes and pull of other ski boats, MasterCraft builders designed a hull that had the smallest wake in the industry; smooth and low at slalom and jump speeds; well defined at trick speeds.

In its first year of operation, MasterCraft only built 12 boats. But the boat design was so revolutionary that the company began getting order after order for its boats and MasterCraft soon became recognized as a force in the tournament ski boat market. Forty years later, MasterCraft is now producing thousands of tournament ski, wakeboarding, luxury and performance boats annually to keep up with consumer demand.

MasterCraft has a single manufacturing facility located in Vonore, Tennessee, where it employs over 560 people. These “MasterCraftsmen” descend on Lake Tellico every morning dedicated to hand-building the world’s best boats. MasterCraft engineers listen to the consumer’s wants and needs, develop new ideas, and mix humanity with technology in order to produce the next generation of ProStars, MariStars, X-Series, CSX and Saltwater Series boats. Then MasterCraft’s President & CEO, John Dorton, and Vice President of Worldwide Sales, Scott Crutchfield, step out of the boardroom and into their bindings. This constant evaluation and focus on the customer has made the soul of the company more attuned to skiers needs with each passing year.

MasterCraft is by far the largest producer of inboard ski, wakeboard and luxury performance powerboats in the world. It sells boats in over 30 different countries and has over 120 domestic and international dealers. Every MasterCraft comes from Vonore and hundreds of owners, skiers and boarders visit the company’s headquarters every year to see the birthplace of their most prized possession.

X-YACHTS

In 1979, one of today’s most successful and quality orientated production yards was established in Denmark. During the 1980’s, X-Yachts designed and built winning IOR yachts for World Class Racing. Our success with this market attracted the attention of the cruising market, which was then looking for fast, high quality and comfortable sailing yachts. It seemed very clear to us that we should use our boat building experience from the fast racers and combine this with building high performance cruising yachts.

Throughout the 1990’s, X-Yachts Range of Performance Cruisers was established. The X-412 was the first model in the new line, and was followed by the X-512, X-382, IMX 38, X-442, X-362, X-332, X-302, X-612, X-482 and finally, in 1999, the X-562.

The new millennium was celebrated with the introduction of the IMX 40 racer – an almost unbeatable IMS and IRC performer. In early 2002, the IMX 45 followed her little sister onto the race course and continued the successful tradition worldwide. The first X-Yacht 73, built in 2001, was another milestone in the yard’s history. She represented our entry into the luxury “deep water, cruising market”.

OCEAN YACHTS

 In 1977 Jack Leek launched Ocean Yachts with the company’s first boat — a 40′ sportfisherman to which our 25th anniversary New Generation 40 Super Sport paid tribute. But Jack was not the first Leek to build boats in New Jersey. In fact, Leeks have been building and launching them in the historic Mullica River since 1721.

Ocean’s heritage reaches as far back as the original American colonies. Leek-manufactured vessels helped develop our coastal and river trade, create a rich fishing industry, battle pirates and privateers, intercept rum runners during Prohibition and German U-boats in World War II. We can justly say that the Leek family’s involvement in the American maritime industry is as old as the industry itself.

C. P. Leek, for example, pioneered the U.S. pleasure craft industry in the 1920s. Later in the century, his Pacemaker line became the most sought-after production power boats on the market. C. P. was the grandfather of Ocean Yachts’ founder Jack, great-grandfather of our current President, John E. Leek III, and great-great-grandfather of Ocean’s General Manager and Director of Design and Engineering, John E. Leek IV. C. P.’s descendents would produce some of the world’s finest luxury sportfishing and cruising yachts.

Today’s Ocean Yachts may have little in common with those early Leek vessels, or even with C. P.’s revolutionary Pacemakers. But they express — in fiberglass instead of wood — the same spirited determination to produce the highest quality yachts in the world.

It is this resolve that has made Ocean Yachts the world’s largest producer of quality-built Super Sports, Sport Fish, and Odyssey models in the 40′ to 73′ class. DELPHIA

The Delpia Yachts shipyard was established in 1990 by brothers Piotr and Wojciech Kot and produced its first sailing boat, the Sportina. Since then, Delphia Yachts has grown to become Poland’s largest manufacturer of sailing boats with a range of eight models and produces over 150 boats each year resulting in the Delphia brand achieving global awareness.

Delphia Yachts has a long standing relationship with Brunswick Marine, an EMEA company, to manufacture a number of their one thousand or so Quicksilver and Uttern class motor boats each year.The rapidly growing market for sailing and motor boats in both retail and trade sectors has resulted in great demand for our products with western European markets accounting for 98% of Delphia’s export sales.Demand for Delphia’s products has increased year on year as the result of a flourishing and dynamically developing dealer network extending as far as the USA, Russia, Japan and Australia.For many years, Delphia has been a member of the Polish Chamber of Yacht Trade and Water Sports of which Wojciech Kot – the company’s co-owner – is president.

CARVER YACHTS

In 1954 in a Milwaukee garage, Charlie Carter and George Verhagen began building mahogany-planked, high-speed runabouts. What started as a hobby soon turned into a business as word quickly spread, and the two fledgling boat builders began selling boats to friends. By combining the first three letters of their last names, the Carver Boat Corporation was born, and the Carver Yacht Group witnessed its humble beginnings.

In 1956, the two entrepreneurs moved their growing business to Pulaski, Wisconsin, to take advantage of the area’s dedicated work force and excellent transportation facilities. They built mahogany boats throughout the 1960s, adding cabin cruisers to an expanding lineup. In the 1970s, the switch was made to fiberglass hulls, with additional advances that included larger cabin designs and the introduction of the popular 32 Mariner.

By the 1980s, Carver had expanded sales beyond the Great Lakes region to truly become a recognized leader in the luxury motor yacht market. In fact, the motor yacht became synonymous with the Carver brand in the early 1990s. In 1991, Carver was acquired by Genmar Holdings, Inc. The 1990s also witnessed the introduction of the elegant frameless window system and the refinement of the upscale Voyager series. By the late 1990s, all Carver Yachts included no structural wood below the waterline, fiberglass stringers, and a seven-year limited warranty on hull and deck. In 2000, the largest Carver Yacht was introduced—the 57 Voyager Pilothouse.

In 2003, the company acquired manufacturing facilities in Fano, Italy, to build its new line of Nuvari Yachts, partnering with the respected naval architecture firm Nuvolari-Lenard. The year also marked the debut of the Wisconsin-built Marquis Class.

Today, Carver Yachts continues to lead the industry in creating world-class cruising vessels. The future promises new and exciting developments to enhance the ultimate cruising experience that only a Carver can deliver.

 

PERSHING

Pershing has been designing, producing and marketing luxury “open” motor yachts for over 25 years, and now boasts a firmly established position as one of the leading names in the “Made in Italy” fibreglass open yacht sector. The Pershing range stands out for its superior performance, constantly researched style, top quality materials and painstakingly designed interiors that offer ultimate comfort. Advanced construction methods, powerful engines reaching 7400 MHP and the use of surface propellers, hydrojets and gas turbines all combine to give Pershing yachts a distinctively sporting trim and peak speeds of up to 52 knots.

Passion, creativity and continuous research of innovation have always been the primary values of the Pershing philosophy, qualities that have been growing up with the brand since the beginning. The story of Pershing is a fascinating one, originated by the lucky intuition of three friends with a profound passion for boating. Tilli Antonelli, Fausto Filippetti and Giuliano Onori set out on this exciting adventure in 1981 combining fun with passion and initiative. The same year the Cantieri Navali dell’Adriatico was founded and the first boat was launched. Four years later, in 1985, after the meeting with Yacht Designer, Fulvio De Simoni, the Pershing idea came into being. Thus, the first Pershing 45’ was designed, an open yacht, which became a huge success, thanks to its new standards of comfort and privacy that had hitherto been the exclusive domain of classic motoryachts.
The early 1990s marked a turning point for the shipyard, as it began an inspired policy of internationalization towards Mediterranean countries, the United States and the Far East. In 1998, a leading enterprise in the luxury yacht sector, and this wonderful adventure continues to this day with new premises and with the same enthusiasm with which it started out.

Pershing yachts are produced in the Mondolfo yard (located right in front of the original yard), a futuristic site of 55,000 square metres – of which more than 38,400 in the open air designed by the architect Sandro Sartini. Much more than asimple production centre:this is a striking scenario that couples beauty, technological functionality and dream, a space designed in every detail to cater for steady development of production and the product range enlargement, also in terms of size of yachts.

The new production site features a large and innovative painting booth of 440 sq m, where boats are dry painted. The test basin (33 m lenght, 7.5 m wide and 2.3 m deep) is used for all hydraulic tests (engines, exhausts, bilges and generators) and for waterproofing tests of yachts. The travel lift, with a carrying capacity of 130 tons, completes activities with ship haulage and launching in the test basin.

The company’s unrelenting search for new stimuli and new directions for international growth is demonstrated by the way it has developed its know-how in order to adapt certain models to meet the demands of a wide range of markets.

DORAL

The History of Boats in Quebec

Around 1730, the « Chemin du Roy » becomes the first ridable road between Montreal and Quebec. It takes two days to make the trip. For the villages along the St. Lawrence River, canoes, rowboats and sailboats are rapidly becoming privileged transportation means for passengers and goods.

The History of boats in Mauricie

Way before the arrival of the first Europeans in America, Amerindians had acknowledged for a long time Shawinigan’s falls. In Algonquian language, Shawinigan’s falls was called Achawénégane. It is Francis Hall in 1816 who changed the spelling for Shawinigan which mainly refers to the portage. Following the municipal mergers of 2002, Shawinigan is now the 14th most important city in Quebec.In the XIXth century, wood sawing was the main activity of workers, especially on the inhabited territory between Trois-Rivières and La Tuque. Sawed wood was prepared for exportation on boats loaded in Trois-Rivières. To ensure the transportation of workers towards the interior of the lands, steamboats, canoes and barges were used. In 1825, the Government of the Province of Lower Canada acknowledged that it was impossible to build a road between Lac St-Jean, Trois-Rivières and La Tuque even along the sides of the Saint-Maurice shores. The forest was too thick and the only way would stay the navigation by the Saint-Maurice and its affluents.Different means of transportation is used throughout the centuries in order to cross both sides of the river. At the beginning of the XIXth century, rowboats where the hull rests on skates are used in winter. In summer rowboats are replaced by horse boats (boats moving using horses with an endless belt that sets in motion a water wheel). It is in 1880 that steam ferries ensure the transportation of passengers and goods. In 1935, Moïse Cadorette starts a company which fabricates canoes and small pleasure boats in St-Jean-des-Piles. In 1956, he introduces fiberglass in the manufacturing of his products to mould the hulls, it is the first time it is done in Canada. It is in 1972 that Doral is officially born. In 1979, two local entrepreneurs are buying Moïse Cadorette aiming to make it grow rapidly. In 1989, the company moves to Grand-Mère by joining forces with Thundercraft and Canot Cadorette. The competition is high in boat construction in the 1950’s. Canots Saint-Maurice is competing with Cadorette. Canots Saint-Maurice is specialized in the making of small pleasure boats in fiberglass. Its production is aimed essentially for the Canadian market.At the end of the 90’s, Doral International is now a company doing business in more than 25 countries across the world. Doral is now a major and challenging player in the Sport and Cruiser boat industry. The commitment of the managers and the employees at all the manufacturing steps is, without any doubt, the secret card for Doral’s success!

CATANA CATAMARANS

1984: At the forefront of the industry
The Catana shipyard is founded in Cogolin in the Var region of France. The first cruising catamarans built here are well ahead of their time.

1986 : 80th parallel
The naval architect Christophe Barreau is the first person to cross the 80th parallel north on board the “Diabolo”, a Catana 40.

1990-1996: Success despite the crisis
Thanks to its catamarans’ excellent reputation, Catana’s success continues despite the major crisis in the world of sailing.

1997: Catana opens a shipyard in Canet-en-Roussillon, France and launches its famous 471
A real revolution in the sailing world, the new Catana range is built in a new state-of-the-art shipyard. Twaron aramid fibre is now used instead of fibreglass.

1998: A high-tech company
Bruno Nicoletti achieves a great feat on board the “Brumas Patagonia”, a Catana 44: a voyage around the world via the three capes, the famous “impossible route” of Vito Dumas.

1999: Recognition in the United States
Launch of the Catana 401.
Catana 471 voted “Boat of the Year” in the United States.

2000: Commercial success
Launch of the Catana 472 and 581: these both have more equipment and luxury features than any other boat, with no loss of performance.

2001: Industrial development
Launch of the Catana 582, the largest and most luxurious Catana ever built.
Catana 401 voted into the top 10 of “Sail” magazine in the United States.

2002: Another successful launch
The new Catana 52 is added to the range.

2003: Poncin Yachts buy Catana
Olivier Poncin, President of Poncin Yachts, buys Catana and develops the shipyard.

2004: First Catana Rally
To celebrate its 20th anniversary, the shipyard invites its clients to its first Catana Rally in Porquerolles, France.

2005: First motorised catamaran
Catana presents its first motorised catamaran, the Power 45.

2006: The Catana 50, a new generation of catamarans
Creation of a Custom department focusing solely on the construction of giant catamarans of more than 25 metres (82 to 92 feet) in length. All these models are designed based on plans by the naval architect Christophe Barreau and Frédéric Neuman.

2007: Giant catamarans
The Catana 50 is a great success and nominated for the “European Yacht of the Year 2007/08” award. The Catana 87 is a new venture for the Catana shipyard: creating customised giant catamarans.

2008: Legitimacy
The leading US sailing publication, “Cruising World” votes the Catana 50 the best cruising multihull of 2008. This recognition on the US market firmly establishes the name and the legitimacy of the Catana brand.

2009: Infusion
The Catana shipyard starts to use infusion to construct its catamarans, a great asset and one that considerably optimises boat weight.

2010: New version of the Catana 50
The Catana 41 gains a foot in length and a new interior layout. It is now known as the Catana 42.
The new Catana 50 loses 3 tonnes and achieves even better performance.

2011: The revolutionary Catana 59
After more than a year of research, the new Catana 59 combines many of the latest innovations from the racing world. A catamaran that offers outstanding performance and unrivalled comfort.

2012: The Catana 70
Although it has the same design and features the same innovations as the Catana 59, the Catana 70 promises to be an incredible high-performance boat.

 FORMULA 

Model year 2006 marked Thunderbird’s 50th anniversary in the production of fiberglass powerboats. A progressive, family-owned company located in Decatur, Indiana, Thunderbird produces boats that are world renowned for beautiful styling, advanced engineering and exciting performance on the water. With a long-established philosophy of uncompromising quality in every detail, Formula is recognized as today’s premier powerboat. Company history reflects the constant evolution of forward-looking product in the FAS³TECH® hull, trendsetting Super Sports and Sun Sports, and also in luxurious Performance Cruiser models.

The guiding force behind Formula’s vision of excellence is the Victor B. Porter family, with Chairman Vic Porter and four sons and a daughter actively managing the business. Scott Porter serves as knowledgeable, energetic president while executive vice president Grant Porter directs all product development and manufacturing. Wayne Porter is vice president of sales, Jean Porter Brune is vice president of marketing and Ted Porter is vice president of human resources. The eldest son, John, also a company shareholder, is a medical doctor and is not involved in daily business activities. Vic’s wife Kris aids in personnel records and also in special projects promoting Formula. Scott’s wife Shelley is active in the MIS department and is also involved in various Formula promotions. Third-generation Porters are beginning to work in the business as well. Wayne’s three children, Adam, Jeremy and Sarah, work full-time for Formula. Adam is software project coordinator and developer. Jeremy is brand presence manager and Sarah is marketing promotions coordinator. Jean’s son, Jason Brune, is a full-time project engineer for Formula. Grant’s son, Kyle, works full-time in the production area. Several other third-generation Porters work after school and during summer breaks.

Thunderbird was founded by Woody Woodson in 1956 in the Miami, Florida, area, and Richard C. Cole was the original designer. Decisively proving its staying power and stability, an eighteen-foot Thunderbird made the first successful sterndrive crossing from Miami to Nassau in 1959.

In 1958 Vic Porter began building and selling small fiberglass runabouts, enjoying success largely in the Midwest and Northeast. This boat line was developed early in marine fiberglass technology, and with Porter as president, was marketed under the Duo, Incorporated name. Because of its timely product and increasing popularity, Starcraft, a larger regional boat manufacturer, purchased Duo in 1966. For a time, Porter stayed on as president of Duo.

Don Aronow founded Formula in 1962 in Miami, Florida. The original 233 deep-V hull design was built at his direction and later earned notable victories on the national offshore racing circuit. Formula was the first of Aronow’s boat companies. While many of today’s Formulas have matured well beyond the speed-only image, the prestige originating with past racing victories is still quite evident in the highly successful FAS3TECH series. In 1961 Thunderbird was acquired by Alliance Machine and Foundry and they followed up by purchasing Formula in 1964. Both Formula and Thunderbird models were then produced in North Miami. An Atlanta-based conglomerate, Fuqua Industries, acquired Thunderbird /Formula in 1969.

Vic Porter once again exercised his entrepreneurial spirit in 1970 and, along with five business associates, founded the Signa Corporation. This venture resulted in a quality line of trihull boats manufactured in Decatur and marketed throughout the Midwest and East. With Porter as president, Signa’s growing success attracted the attention of Fuqua Industries. Fuqua’s offer to buy Signa was accepted in 1973 and, based on his expertise in the boating industry, Porter was named president of Fuqua’s entire small-boat division. At that time there was also a manufacturing facility in Paso Robles, California.

In mid-1976 Vic Porter purchased Thunderbird/ Formula from Fuqua. The second generation of Porters joined in the management team as they finished their college work and gained experience in the business. The trihull design was discontinued in 1979, and company emphasis centered on the offshore deep-V hull configuration of the Formula models.

Formulas were manufactured in California through 1981. In March of 1988, Thunderbird also departed South Florida and consolidated corporate and production headquarters in a brand new, state-of-the-art facility in Decatur, Indiana. Formula continued to grow and evolve in the 345,000 square-foot plant, and, in September 2000, production capacity was expanded with a 143,500 square-foot addition. And again in 2006, Formula expanded with an 85,000 square-foot addition.

Vic Porter, chairman of Thunderbird, continues to be actively involved in the business. With the Porter family focusing on quality in every aspect, it is certain that Thunderbird will continue to maintain Formula’s long-established reputation as a premier powerboat worldwide.

2007 Crownline has grown to become the third largest builder of stern drive powered sport boats in the world, continuing its “first to the market” design philosophies. The new Crownline 240 LS features its patented “Hot Tub” style seating and Social Swim Transom system. The new 252 EX deckboat has the hot tub bow seating with a entertainment friendly soft C cockpit design. Crownline’s new 315 Sport Cruiser offers a progressive alternative to the uninspired styling of its competitors. The Crownline founding family sells the majority share of Crownline Boats, Inc. to Pousching Cook Capital Management.
2008 Crownline has combined its distinctive “sports car” styling with an exceptionally luxurious, well thought out interior design to create the new 300 LS bowrider. Crownline proudly introduced it’s elegant, classy, inspired and sexy new 340 CR Cruiser. In December of 2008, Pouschine Cook Capital Management makes the decision to seek strategic partners to operate Crownline and production is temporarily suspended.
2009 Crownline was purchased and reopened on 8/26/09 by Leisure Properties, LLC, whose owners brought years of marine experience to the table. Previous Management team was brought back and the new Crownline company was born. The first Crownline under new ownership rolled off the manufacturing line on 10/14/09.
2010 Crownline announces many content upgrades throughout entire model line-up for the 2011 model year that will enhance and add value and excitement to their already impressive current lineup. In addition, four new models will be added by the end of 2010 to complement the existing line. The all new Eclipse Series, E-4 and E-6, and the new 215 SS were added to the model line up!
2011 Crownline announces content upgrades for bowriders, cuddies and cruisers for the 2012 Model Year such as vinyl wrapped dash gauges, upgraded Sony Stereos and Cabin interiors. The 2012 Model year will also include introductions of the new 235 SS, E-1, E-2 and the 285 SS. In addition to these models we also added optional features such as new wakeboard towers, Wet Sounds speakers and the new “Social Cockpit Seating” for the 215 SS.

About Cerri Cantieri Navali
It was true, deep love for the sea and for yachts that, in 1997, spurred Carlo Cerri to invest his huge experience as a successful businessman to build the world-class powerboat Cerri 28: limited size, a painstaking care for details, functionality, ergonomics, clean lines and finely-finished pleasant interiors were some of the keys to this motor boat’s huge success. 1999 was the year of the Cerri 52: this medium-size open yacht boasting a cruising speed of 34 knots was particularly appreciated for her innovative deck layout, her flawless construction quality, and her very sleek profile. The project of the Cerri 40 was presented in 2001 during Genoa Boat Show: this yacht was conceived by Mr Cerri and his enthusiastic team to meet the requirements of the brand’s exclusive customers, by then “spoiled” by the increasingly well-known “Cerri Style”, the symbol of rigour and passion. The Cerri 40 filled a gap in the range and completed the open line. 2002 was the year of the boom for the boatyard, as creativity and the experience gained over the years led to a new concept of larger yachts. The Cerri 86′ FlyingSport was thus born, combining sporty features and comfort – a fast open yacht with a roomy fly bridge allowing to enjoy cruising at its best and a unique example of elegance, style, functionality and incredible onboard liveability. In early 2005 the design of a new yacht started, once again applying the innovative concept of the FlyingSport: an over-30-metres-long boat featuring revolutionary solutions, innovative high-tech materials, outstanding style, unmatched performances, extreme comfort, highly prestigious interiors and excellent liveability. In 2007 the Shipyard bought a new plant, thus increasing the overall area of its production facilities to more than seven thousand square metres. The new areas, located near the Company’s headquarters, were designed to host the fitting of the new Cerri 102′ FlyingSport, whose first hull was launched in 2009. Cerri’s premises soon became a true example of excellence: state-of-the-art offices embodying a concept of work meant as part of daily life, with comfortable working stations, cable music in the background, a canteen equipped with a kitchen for professional catering and comfortable relaxation areas for employees too. In September 2011 Cerri’s shares were taken over by the Gavio Group. The Gavio Group is a leading industrial group operating in the sectors of infrastructures, logistics, transport, and – as of last year – large yachts, thanks to the take-over of Cerri Cantieri Navali and, in February 2012, of the historic brand Baglietto.

ABOUT OTAM 

OTAM was founded in 1954. The OTAM Millennium range is the result of 60 years of power boating experience, and currently includes seven models: the 45′, the 50′ Open, the 58′ Open or HT, the 65′ HT, the 80′ HT and the Millennium 100. OTAM is based in Genoa at Sestri Ponente, with over 17,000 square meters of facilities and direct access to the sea. All OTAM production is carried out in Genova by workers and professionals (about 50) who have collaborated for decades with the yard.

60 years of expertise in speed and performanceHulls made by OTAM are built using a blend of aramat and vinyl ester resin, designed to guarantee complete safety and comfort even at high speed in rough sea. With a dead-rise of over 21°, an OTAM hull gives a soft and fluid ride through the waves. Full safety is assured even while cruising at 40 knots with a big sea (Force 3 to 4). Incredible performance, a top speed between 50 and 58 knots (depending on the model), is obtained by precise control over the power to weight ratio, creating a perfect synergy between hull design, Arneson surface propellers and weight distribution. On average, any OTAM model consumes no more than 10 liters ( 2,6 gallons) per nautical mile at a cruising speed of 40 knots (at apx 1,600 rpm), up to 40% less than any competitor. This singular characteristic puts OTAM at the forefront also in the new sector of luxury chase boats and mega-tenders.
