Yamarin expands its highly popular day cruiser line-up with a new flagship model. The much-anticipated new Yamarin 88 DC is aimed at boaters who enjoy spending time on the water with family and friends and appreciate social usability, elegant appearance and excellent handling characteristics.
At almost nine metres long, the Yamarin 88 Day Cruiser offers a comfortable boat ride for 12 people and sleeps up to five persons in its two cabins.

“This boat combines timeless design with pleasant sociability and accessibility. The two cabins with their separate entrances and a truly large and functional cockpit provide an excellent setting for enjoyable time on the water,” says Anders Kurtén, Director, Products for Yamarin, the Yamarin range of boats at Inha Works Ltd.

The handling characteristics of the Yamarin 88 DC will please even the very demanding helmsmen. The boat feels stable also at higher speeds and rougher weather. The Yamarin 88 DC’s maximum engine rating is the Yamaha F350 V8 that produces a top speed of over 45 knots.

“The 88 DC carries on the Yamarin tradition where great handling, safety and high quality are key. The new timeless design and carefully thought-out details will take day cruising to a whole new level,” says Kurtén.

Designed for enjoyable boating
The Yamarin 88 Day Cruiser has been designed to be a pleasant boat to ride in and spend time on. Its cockpit, the largest of any boat in this size category, serves as a good-sized social area for a larger crowd as well.

This space opens up behind the helm, with a comfortably cushioned G-shaped sofa for 8–10 people and an expandable table in the middle.

The pentry features a stove and a wash basin, and its handy worktop folds up neatly. The refrigerator is placed below the stove. The drawers situated underneath the co-driver’s seat provide practical storage space for dishes, for example.

A 16-inch Yamarin Q smart display is located conveniently right in front of the helmsman. The Yamarin Q is a multi-functional on-board computer and infotainment system that combines the boat’s instruments, electronic charts, operating manuals and management of many different accessories onto a single touchscreen that is clear to read and easy to use. The various engine data from Yamaha outboards are also seamlessly integrated onto the smart display for easy viewing.

Two cabins with separate entrances
The boat has two cabins, each with its separate entrance. The roomy owners cabin in the bow comfortably sleeps two persons and also houses a separate water toilet with nice volume and a wash basin.  The skylights situated on both sides of the deck let plenty of natural light into the cabin, which is also fitted with several sources of indirect light.

An additional cabin with a twin berth for two persons is located below the open space in the back. This sleeping area is easily accessed by lifting up the hinged section of the open-space seating right behind the helm. The same area also doubles as a handy stowage compartment when not required for sleeping.

The sleek windshield of the Yamarin 88 DC provides ample protection also for passengers seated in the back. The boat is easy to access and walk through: the large bathing platforms, secure long railings, tread area on the right side of the back seat, centrally located steps leading up to the deck and openable windshield all contribute to safe and convenient moving on board.

Space for sunbathing and enjoyment on the water
With the sleeping berth mattress made to fit the bathing platform between the canvas garage and the engine, this platform can be converted into a spacious and comfortable sun bed. Another pleasant sun bed can easily be set up on the bow deck, and the open-space seating and table also allow conversion for sunbathing in conventional Yamarin style. The practical folding boarding ladder at the bow comes as standard.

The large bathing platform on two levels at the stern ensures easy access and provides space for different activities. The canvas is easy to set up from its designated hinged garage behind the back seat.

The Yamarin 88 Day Cruiser makes its premiere at the Båter i Sjøen exhibition in Oslo, Norway on 6 September 2018.
