DISPLAYED ITS NEWEST 100′ SUPERYACHT

Ocean Alexander – the fourth largest superyacht builder in the world – has taken part in the Fort Lauderdale International Boat  Show  2016  along  withits  EUROPEAN DISTRIBUTOR GIAROLI sas. The yard displayed its Ocean Alexander 100 that is available in two versions, with deck master or sky-lounge on the flybridge.

Ocean Alexander 100 is built on a proven successful platform using vinyl-ester resin with high-density structural foam, which is typically found on much larger vessels. The well-balanced 30.5-metre superyacht represents a logical development of its predecessor, a 90-footer, and has a distinct character, classic timeless exterior and spacious, stylish interior. OA 100, like all other models of the brand, is delivered with the inclusion in the final price of a turn key package.

The exterior and naval architecture are developed in-house by the shipyard. The interior is made by the world-known Evan K. Marshall, who designed the yacht with special details in order to enhance her allurement on a charter market. Noble materials are used in the decoration, including wood paneling in semi-gloss finish, ceiling panels with diamond faceted edging, which provides a sharper and structured tailored look, marble floors and more.

The layout of OA 100 is quite traditional, yet contemporary as it provides all features that a modern owner would want. The boat has a spacious airy saloon that is filled with natural light thanks to huge windows. It features a lounge aft, a bar, and an 8-person dining area amidship with adjoining comfortable galley.

“The yard uses inventive aluminum-beam engineering to bring the most massive window views of any yacht this size”, referred Giampaolo Murzi from Giaroli, Official importer for Europe, Russia and Turkey for Ocean Alexander brand. “They’ve scaled living space upward in the 100 using strategies usually found only in megayachts. With increased spaces in the galley and crew area, this yacht is perfect for private ownership or charter”.

There are two alfresco areas on the main deck. One is a panoramic lounge with a C-shaped settee around a table on the bow. A soft tent helps cover this area from the sun in case it’s too hot. The second open area is just a couple of feet behind the main saloon. It’s a perfect place to have a breakfast or an informal meeting over a meal or a cup of coffee.
OA 100 has two equally-appealing versions of the upper deck. She either has a flybridge or a sky-lounge. The latter means the sundeck is completely protected by panoramic windows and the yacht doesn’t have an additional helm station, but instead she has a very comfortable space suitable for almost any weather. In either version, the upper deck features a number of entertainments, such as a grill station, a bar, a 48’’ TV, a fridge and a Jacuzzi. Also a 6m tender is kept here aft.
In terms of where guests live, there are a couple of options. Firstly, all four guest cabins with own en-suite heads could be placed on lower deck, including a vast master suit with a walk-in closet, enormous windows and spacious bathroom. Secondly, an owner can have his apartment on main deck.

OA 100 is a classic Ocean Alexander yacht. She has a sporty nature but at the same time she can run smoothly and economically on cruising speed to ensure fuel-saving mode. A pair of 1,925-horsepower Caterpillar C32 ACERT engines is installed on board. The yacht reaches up to 25 knots, but also can run economically on 10-12 knots while spending only 24 US gallons per hour. On cruising speed she can cover up to more than 3,000 nautical miles.
The shipyard also employs various techniques to reduce sound and vibration. For example, it uses multiple insulation barriers including reflective materials, absorptive materials, dampening materials, air pockets and flexible and isolation mounts. Ultimately resulting in vibration/sounds levels that are industry leading and at times 1/2 to 1/10 of ISO-6954 requirements, which is a unique Ocean Alexander feature.
