Jeanneau Aims for the Gold at the 2012 Olympic Games in London

The Jeanneau family includes numerous sailboat racers, at our shipyard and throughout our dealer network. Without contest, among the most brilliant of these is Mateusz Kusznierewicz, exclusive Jeanneau Dealer in Poland, who is aiming for the gold medal in Star Class at the 2012 Olympic Games in London.Mateusz will be participating in his 5th Olympic competition in London, with just one goal: winning the gold medal again, as he did in 1996 in Atlanta. Born on April 29,1975 in Warsaw, to date, he has earned a list of honours to impress any sailor. To name just a few, he was: World Champion in Star in 2OO8; Silver Medallist in Finn in 2002; Silver Medallist in Finn in 2001; Gold Medallist in Finn in 2000; Bronze Medallist in Athens in 2004, 4th in Peking in 2008 and in Sydney in 2000; European Champion and 13-time Champion of Poland; and voted Sailor of the Year 1999 by ISAF! In 2011, he has already participated in some of the biggest sailing events: in the USA (Miami), in Spain (Santander), in Holland (Medembik), and in Great Britain (Weymouth). Mateusz will wear the Jeanneau colours with pride throughout the 2011 season and on to the 2012 Olympic Games in London. At the Cannes Boat Show, Mateusz has also agreed to christen our newest sailboat models, the Sun Odyssey 509 and 379 and the Sun Odyssey 44DS. More information about this year’s events and Mateusz’ preparation for the Olympic Games is available on the Jeanneau website. Whether at the regattas or at the shipyard, the spirit of competition is alive and well at Jeanneau.
