CANTIERE DEL PARDO LAUNCHES NEW GRAND SOLEIL 47’
Cantiere del Pardo is getting ready for the forthcoming Autumn Boat Shows which will open the 2013 nautical season by introducing a new 47’ foot performance cruiser. Together with the new 43’, these elegant designs will not fail to impress.
The strategy of Cantiere del Pardo, is to aim high with this new model: the Grand Soleil 47’ incorporates luxurious detail and advanced technology that has derived from custom built boats. Stability and speed is at the heart of this design which makes this boat the perfect solution for owners looking for great performance without compromising on style and quality characteristics for which Cantiere del Pardo has gained a leading position in this segment of the market.
PERFORMANCE
Cantiere del Pardo has always relied on top designers to develop projects with great personality, characterized by their excellent performance and unmistakable elegance. Waterlines on the GS 47’ come from the now consolidated co-operation with the America’s Cup Designer Marcelino Botin with whom Cantiere del Pardo has already developed several designs including the GS 46’ which went on to receive “winner of the European Yacht of the Year Award”.
Alongside the proven construction techniques, such as the sandwich core for the hull and deck, vacuum-bag infusion for the lamination of the hull, integrated bulwark and T-shape keel, Cantiere del Pardo have gone one better by introducing, also on this model, a carbon composite grid pan which replaces the previous Galvanised steel design. This now means that not only will the Grand Soleil 47’ be strong and rigid but considerably lighter and with a higher righting moment guaranteeing maximum safety and comfort whilst cruising and the best performance for racing (a Sport version with IRC or ORC optimization is also available for those dedicated to pure racing.).
STYLE
Their natural taste for what’s beautiful has made Italian designers famous the world over. Faithful to this principle, the racing water lines of the Grand Soleil 47’ are always accompanied and finished in an elegant, refined way.
The hull shape is streamlined and features myriad styling details that are used in other models in the range. The completely flush decks, wide gunwales, recessed sheets and hidden lines pulls together aesthetic elements with practical ergonomic functions.
COMFORT & EASE OF HANDLING
On deck everything is well thought out to guarantee maximum comfort and safety, thanks to a completely uncluttered design, large sunbathing areas and an opening bathing platform to enable easy access to the sea. With flush deck hatches, outboard chain plates and under deck lines, all trip hazards have been completely eliminated allowing quick and easy movement around the boat.
The German Mainsheet system and the non overlapping jib ensures simple and precise control even for the single handed sailors. Below decks the elegance and attention to detail is paramount and typical of every Grand Soleil. The standard interior layout offers a practical and functional solution with an ‘L’ shaped galley, 3 cabins and 2 heads and it is characterised by a very bright and a fresh style, in harmony with the seagoing character of the boat.
Great attention has also been placed on the number of storage compartments and the large chart table that is capable of taking full size paper charts.
