JETTEN JACHTBOUW UNVEILED NEW BEACH 55 YACHT

Jetten Jachtbouw

The Dutch yacht builder Jetten Jachtbouw has unveiled a new-look flybridge yacht, designed by Cor D. Rover with Albert Nazarov, to debut its next generation of luxurious, stylish and efficient yachts.

Jetten Jachtbouw has released the first details and images of its luxurious and spacious new 55-foot (16.8-metre) motoryacht, the Beach 55, at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show 2019. It is the first model to be revealed since the Dutch shipyard was acquired by MSAR, owned by Jack Wijnants.

A prolific builder in the Netherlands, Jetten Jachtbouw has delivered 350 yachts since 1997. The unveiling of the Beach 55 heralds a pivotal moment for the Jetten brand, as it heads in an exciting, fresh direction while maintaining its strong reputation for Dutch build quality and craftsmanship.

Wijnants’ vision is to elevate the Jetten Jachtbouw brand to new heights of innovation by focusing on luxurious, spacious and stylish yachts up to 100 feet. The motoryachts will be constructed in vacuum infused, carbon reinforced GRP rather than steel or aluminium, which are the materials typically used by Dutch shipyards. That vision is taking its first step with the launch of the Beach 55, from the drafting table of award-winning Dutch designer Cor D. Rover with naval architecture by Albert Nazarov.

We are excited to reveal this first exciting project for Jetten Jachtbouw,” said Wijnants. “Having spent many years of my own family leisure time on Dutch yachts, I appreciate the quality and deserved reputation that come from this pedigree. I want to change the way we see this category of yachts by bringing new and innovative construction techniques to the Netherlands. The results are manifold: low maintenance, low running costs and greater use of interior space. Owners will appreciate this difference every single day.

Cool on the outside

Cor D. Rover has drawn on his extensive design expertise to create a robust yet sleek looking exterior for the Beach 55. A star attraction, one of its many social spaces is its fun foredeck, featuring a dining table with U-shaped sofa seating and a large sunbed.

One flybridge layout option incorporates an extendable dining table with comfortable sofa seating, a further large sunbed overlooking the foredeck, a barbecue and sink, and a navigation station with double pilot chairs. A second layout extends the sunbed across almost the full width of the deck’s aft, while the table and seating are moved forward to provide a more convivial setting for those at the helm.

The main deck aft offers a more protected spot for dining or cocktails, with a large table and sofa seating; a starboard staircase leads down to an extended swim platform and rear access to the engine room.

Comfort on the inside

The Beach 55’s main deck interior is spacious and bright, with large vertical windows allowing in maximum natural light from the surroundings. The rear portion of the open-plan space is given over to the saloon for relaxation and dining, with a large table and U-shaped sofa to the port side and a standalone sofa to the starboard side. Forwards, the galley is located opposite the navigation station with double pilot chairs, while a centrally located staircase leads to the accommodation below.

The lower deck features four premium cabins with luxury elements and finishes throughout. The full-beam master cabin amidships offers maximum space for owners to enjoy some privacy, including a sofa with beautiful views of the water, a vanity and ensuite bathroom with a shower and his-and-hers sinks. Three further double bunk cabins have easy access to the guest bathroom, including a connecting door from the largest of the cabins. A single ensuite crew cabin in the bow has hatch access from the foredeck.

Fast yet efficient

According to Wijnants, a key remit for the new direction of Jetten Jachtbouw’s yachts is that they will have low fuel consumption and maintenance requirements to reduce the running costs for owners. Powered by the reliable and efficient Volvo IPS propulsion system, the Beach 55 is expected to reach top speed of 34 knots, dependent on the engine selection. With tanks storing 3,500 to 4,000 litres of fuel (specification dependent), at a cruising speed of 10 knots, the yacht is predicted to have a range of approximately 675nm or 1,250 km.

As well as drawing on the company’s experience of yacht construction, Jetten Jachtbouw’s new ownership provides the builder with access to a wide array of complementary resources that strengthen its offering to clients. For over a decade, Belgian-born Monaco resident Wijnants has been delivering solutions to the maritime sector with MSAR, building patrol, rescue and multi-purpose boats.

In 2018, he created the AmaSea Yachts…

In 2018, he created the AmaSea Yachts brand to build robust and adventurous oceangoing luxury catamarans for the leisure market; its first model is the 25-metre tri-deck aluminium catamaran AmaSea 84, designed by Dr. Nazarov as well.

There is great synergy between our various areas of maritime construction, with a common thread of efficiency and seaworthiness that runs through all vessels from Jetten Jachtbouw, MSAR and AmaSea. Each of our brands has its own identity and purpose, but we are able to instil a scientifically-based foundation of stability and performance thanks to the leading designers, naval architects and engineers who are involved. I am proud of what we have already achieved and where we are taking Jetten, not least with the remarkable Beach 55 design and features,” added Wijnants.

Pricing

The first production units of the Beach 55 will be delivered in 2021 with a starting price of €1.85m.
