BENETTI AT THE FORT LAUDERDALE INTERNATIONAL BOAT SHOW 2017

Benetti MY Skyler

Benetti is attending the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show from November 1 to 5, presenting the US premiere of M/Y Skyler, the third unit in the Benetti Fast 125’ range, and Mediterraneo 116’ M/Y OLI. During the boat show, the shipbuilder will present a preview of four new custom yacht projects in the BNow class developed jointly with RWD.

Making its US debut at Fort Lauderdale, M/Y Skyler (38 meters long and 8.3 meters wide), the third unit in the Benetti Fast 125’ range, is a semi-wide body yacht with four decks and five cabins: the owner’s suite, three double cabins and a cabin with twin beds plus space for a third. The crew accommodation has berths for seven crew members.

The exteriors, designed by Stefano Righini, feature big horizontal glazed surfaces that accentuate the yacht’s streamlined appearance, as well as an unusual central element on one side of the superstructure, which covers the stairway to the Upper Deck. The interiors byRWD, working with Benetti’s in-house design team, stand out for their contemporary design and clean, simple lines that bring out the natural elegance of the precious materials used for the decorations. This model features numerous pieces of loose furniture by leading design brands, including Glyn Peter Machin, Sutherland, Minotti and Meridiani.

The Azipull Carbon 65 (AZP C65) propulsion system, designed by Rolls Royce specifically for this line, is a lightweight, high performance, steerable thruster made entirely from carbon fiber that offers excellent manoeuvrability both in transit and in port. A joystick on the bridge makes mooring a safe and simple operation, while ‘stay on spot’ technology keeps the boat in the position set on the GPS, without mooring or dropping anchor. Navigation is also remarkably quiet, because the reduced weight of the Azipull unit means the engine room can be situated closer to the stern, and so further away from the cabins. Top speed is 22 knots.

The 35.5-meter M/Y OLI, the first unit in the new Mediterraneo 116’ line, brings with it a whole series of innovations at technical, stylistic and interior layout level, making this model one of the finest expressions of Benetti style.

This yacht is characterized by light as dominant feature, thanks to meticulously crafted surfaces, impressive 3-meter long windows, and a big crystal glass door on the Main Deck.

The sleek, streamlined exteriors by Giorgio Maria Cassetta Design draw on classic signs and proportions, but give them a contemporary twist. Luminosity, harmony and continuity are the main features of the interiors, which have four double cabins: two VIP suites aft, plus two more cabins with twin beds. Crew accommodation for a total of seven crew is provided by three double cabins, plus the captain’s cabin on the Upper Deck. The interiors are decorated using one single wood variety, enriched with polished steel inserts and detailing. The furniture, chosen from top-of-the-range brands, is minimal and sophisticated and there are various colour contrasts, obtained in particular by using matt finish White Statuary and Nero Marquina Marble in all the bathrooms.

The two Man V-12-1400 engines deliver 1,400 hp each and drive the yacht to a top speed of 15 knots and a cruising speed of about 14 knots. The yacht’s range at 10 knots is 3,000 nautical miles.

During the second day of the show, Benetti will also be holding a press conference to unveil four newly developed models in the BNow class, which offer extensive opportunities for customization and reduced delivery times. These new steel and aluminum yachts were developed jointly with RWD and represent an extension of the close cooperation between Benetti and the British studio, which was announced during the Cannes Boat show with the reveal of the new 130’ GRP boat “OASIS”, from the Lifestyle range.
