Setting a new standard in short-handed, luxury performance cruising

The brand new Le Breton Yachts SIG60 is a very fast, short-handed, blue water cruising yacht. With the same signature style and pedigree as our striking SIG45 cruiser-racer, this elegant yacht offers true live-aboard accommodation on a raceboat-derived platform. Le Breton Yachts has developed this ground-breaking addition to its stable in collaboration with the world’s top racing multihull design firm Van Peteghem Lauriot Prevost (VPLP) and Adam Voorhees Design.

Speed

With a carbon fibre structure and rig, the SIG60 will be one of the lightest and fastest cruising yachts on the market. A powerful, but easily managed sail plan will enable outstanding performance in strong and light wind. Slender hulls and centred weights will give an incredibly smooth motion through a seaway, as so ably demonstrated by the SIG45.

For those focussed on performance and outdoor space, the SIG60GT version has an open deck layout as seen on the SIG45, and will offer even more phenomenal performance.

Innovation

The SIG60’s cockpit layout was designed to optimise ergonomics, safety, comfort and conviviality. The first step in achieving safety and ease of handling was to bring all sail controls aft to the cockpit. This approach features tunnels to lead reefing lines, furling lines and halyards to the helm positions, as seen on VPLP’s race-winning IMOCA60 monohulls. All sail controls are within easy reach of the helm, meaning that the perilous journey to the mast to reduce sail in building winds and seas at night will no longer be necessary.

The twin outboard cockpits provide not only a separation of working from relaxing areas, but create a focal point around the helmsman when sailing, unlike the traditional multihull solution of a wheel against the saloon bulkhead, which isolates the helmsman from the rest of the crew.

Grace

Le Breton Yachts prides itself on presenting its clients with a unique portfolio of elegant  sailing catamarans. The SIG60 features the familiar classical lines of her sporty sister, the SIG45, yet this yacht’s virtually full beam coachroof gives her an unusually spacious saloon, with a generous dining table, navigation station/chart table, and a large day bed. The galley is on a mezzanine floor in the port hull, ensuring that the chef can be fully involved in the social activities of the saloon.

Four comfortable double cabins and three heads (including an en suite for the master cabin aft) make for plentiful space for family and friends. The day bed can be used for unexpected guests or night watches.

Boat shows

Le Breton Yachts will be exhibiting at the Cannes Festival de la Plaisance (11-16 September), where there will be opportunities to test sail the SIG45 (by prior appointment only).  In addition, we will exhibit at the Annapolis Boat Show (4-8 October).
